GJ Spring Swing Skills Challenge

We are excited to welcome teams to the GJ Spring Swing Tournament and are proud to offer even more opportunities for athletes to compete, connect, and have fun throughout the weekend.

As an added perk to the tournament experience, teams are invited to participate in the GJ Spring Swing Skills Challenge, taking place Saturday evening at Monument Little League. This event gives players the chance to compete beyond the bracket in a series of high-energy challenges focused on speed, accuracy, and teamwork. Prizes will be awarded in each division, creating an added level of competition for all teams.

Event Start Time: 6:00 PM or immediately following Saturday games
Location: Monument Little League
Additional: Food trucks will be on site

Road Runner | Fastest Time Wins

A relay-style base running competition featuring four players per team. Athletes will race from home to home, with two runners starting at home and relaying with two runners positioned at second base.
Penalty: 5 seconds added for each missed base, including home plate.

Golden Arm | Most Points Wins

A throwing competition where three players per team complete a total of nine throws from the centerfield area to home plate.
Scoring is based on accuracy and control:

  • Hit the net: 1 point

  • Hit the net in the air: 2 points

  • Ball stays in the net from the air: 5 points

Throwing Distances:

  • 9U–10U: 100 feet

  • 11U–12U: 125 feet

  • 13U–14U: 175 feet

Around the Horn Plus | Fastest Time Wins

  • The pitcher throws the baseball to the catcher. (the team's time begins when the catcher tags home plate and releases the baseball.) if the catcher misses home plate, time begins when the baseball is released + a 5 second penalty is assessed.

  • The catcher must throw the ball to the third baseman tagging third base.

  • The third baseman must throw the ball to the second baseman tagging second base.

  • The second baseman must throw the ball to the first baseman tagging first base.

  • The first baseman must throw the ball to the catcher tagging home plate.

  • The catcher must throw the ball to the shortstop tagging second base.

  • The shortstop must throw the ball to the right fielder tagging the outfield spot in right field and throwing the ball to the second baseman tagging second base.

  • The second baseman must throw the ball to the center fielder who must tag the outfield spot in centerfield and throw the ball to the third baseman tagging third base.

  • The third baseman must throw the ball to the left fielder who must tag the outfield spot in leftfield and throw the ball to the catcher covering home plate. (the team's time ends when the catcher tags home plate.)

  • A five second penalty will be assessed for each umpire-assisted overthrow and each missed base including home plate.
